The library entrance is beside the old building.

Check the meaning, then try again.

Choose an answer and check the explanation. You can open the answer key at any time.

1. You hear: “Cross the bridge, then go through the garden.” Which place comes immediately after the bridge?

A2 practice

See the answer and why

The answer is “The garden.” “Then” introduces the next stage. The instruction puts the garden after the bridge.

2. The bridge path is closed. Which summary preserves the open alternative route and the correct entrance?

B1 practice

See the answer and why

The answer is “Past the café, through the garden, then to the public library entrance.” The updated route goes past the café and through the garden. Visitors use the public entrance round the side, not the staff door or the closed bridge route.
